A day at ISB of Bertoua Nursery Section

Recognizing and meeting the physiological needs of young children in nursery school involves a material organization thought out and managed in accordance with the rules of hygiene and safety. All the school supervisors contribute to this organization under the responsibility of the principal.

Reception 6.30-7.45am

Reception is a privileged time to listen and pay attention to each child. It promotes separation in serenity. It is an airlock between the world of family and that of school. Limited in time, it is usually held at the entrance to the campus. It has particular importance in pre-school age.

Gathering and early morning wake-up call 7.45am-8.00am

In the morning at the sound of the siren, the students line up around the pole where they carry out activities such as:

  • The performance of the national anthem,
  • Awakening songs,
  • Educational talks.

Teachings 8h00-9h45

During this period, the educator varies activities that require more attention, such as reading a story, and those that are more active, such as a workshop where children manipulate blocks and develop their creativity.

Each activity lasts an average of 15 to 20 minutes since students are not yet able to stay focused for very long.

Use of the toilet 9.45-10.00 a.m.

Under the guidance of the educators, the children will become comfortable and apply the necessary hygiene rules.

Recreational break 10 am-10.30am

For a period of 30 minutes, kindergarten students go outside to play in a well-equipped yard under the supervision of the educators.

Resumption of lessons 10:30 am-1:00pm

After the break, the previous activities are resumed in the second language according to the day's programming.

Class outing 13h00-13h15

The children are in good condition. Storage, songs and stories punctuate the outing.

A day at ISB of Bertoua Primary Section

Recognizing and meeting the educational needs of students attending primary school involves a material organization designed and managed in accordance with the rules of hygiene and safety. All the school supervisors contribute to this organization under the responsibility of the principal.

Reception 6:30 am-7:15am

It is done by teachers and support staff. Children are screened for cleanliness and uniformity outside the campus grounds.

Gathering 7:15 am-7:30am

After the performance of the awakening songs followed by the national anthem, the director speaks for announcements and educational talks. Then the children go to their respective classrooms.

First phase of Teachings 7:30 am-10:15am

Beginning of the first part of the lessons according to the schedule of the day.

First Break 10:15 am-10:30am

It lasts fifteen (15) minutes. This is the period when the child takes a snack in order to breathe and better face the rest of the day

Second phase of Teachings 10:30 am-12:30pm

Resumption of lessons according to the schedule of the day.

Second Break 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

It lasts forty-five (45) minutes. It is the passage to the canteen for the children who subscribe to it and for the non-subscribers, the time to have their meal.

Last phase of Teachings 1:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Returning from the second break, the teacher begins the last part of the schedule.

Class outing 3:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

After the storage, the children who take the bus for the return go to the respective buses and the others wait for their parents on site under the control of the educators.

NB the day ends at 1:30 p.m. for Wednesday and Friday.
